ermahgerd is a self-hostable, multi-tenant PaaS for deploying and operating Workers-compatible applications with Wrangler. These guides cover the compact and multi-node local profiles plus the public single-node Ansible profile. All are single-region and non-HA; none claims to reproduce a global edge network.
Start here
- Getting started — create a profile, sign in, and explore the included applications.
- Use the console — manage organizations, resources, access, and platform health through the tenant and administrator portals.
- Invite and manage customers — issue signup links, onboard customers, and invite organization members.
- Example applications — learn the platform through the bundled sum, order pipeline, photo workflow, EmDash, and Nimbus examples.
Build and deploy applications
- Deploy Workers — configure Wrangler, deploy versions, roll back, use secrets and schedules, and call other Workers.
- Organizations and access — work with tenant ownership, roles, API tokens, hostnames, and service bindings.
- Application Access — protect selected Worker hostnames with organization policy and service credentials.
- Run EmDash — deploy and maintain the released CMS scaffold on the platform using its ordinary workflow.
- Publish the documentation site — build and deploy the bundled Nimbus documentation application.
Use platform capabilities
- Object storage — use S3-compatible endpoints and R2-style Worker bindings.
- Queues and background events — send durable messages and run Worker consumers.
- Databases — create SQLite databases and use D1-compatible bindings and migrations.
- Durable Objects — deploy native named state, SQLite, RPC, alarms, and WebSockets through Wrangler.
- Schedules — configure Cron triggers, inspect deliveries, and pause or resume a Worker’s scheduled work.
- Static assets — deploy sites and Workers with versioned asset manifests.
- Images — transform images through the native Worker binding.
- AI and vector search — bring an OpenAI, Anthropic, or Fireworks account and compose AI calls with Vectorize-compatible indexes.
- Usage and quotas — understand tiers, authoritative limits, and platform support overrides.
Operate the platform
- Deployment profiles and capacity — choose compact or multi-node placement and understand networking and capacity changes.
- Observability — interpret tenant telemetry, platform posture, service levels, and load checks.
- Operating the appliance — provision local or public hosts, upgrade, verify, and understand lifecycle and security boundaries.
- HTTPS and domains — use trusted local Worker HTTPS, rehearse certificate renewal, and understand public-hosting gates.
- Architecture — inspect the rendered topology and sequence diagrams.
